Monday is here again…..where does time go?
I worked a half-day on Saturday, then worked on making some ceramic coasters. These are in various stages of completeness, and I’ll have some pictures tomorrow. Since this is my first try at this, I’m just “okay” with the outcome. But, I’ll perservere and try some others. Practice always helps in these situations!
Cleaning, laundry….the never-ending task of laundry….
I had planned on doing some outside work yesterday, but the rains came again…so, hopefully some time this week I’ll get to plant the flowers that are awaiting a little more earth to grow.
Cara and Ryan stopped by with Lydia for a bit last evening. She is getting so big…talking, carrying a baby doll with her. The baby cries from time to time, and then she hugs her, gives her a kiss, and says, “It’s okay”.
And yes, life is okay. Some ups, downs and in-betweens, but it is okay.
Peggy left a comment yesterday in which she referred to my children and granddaughter by their initials. I was praying last evening before I fell asleep and this thought came to me–how if I arrange their initials in a manner other than their birth order, they spell the word “CALL”….and that is just what I do and am going to continue to do. When I feel down or anxious about them, my raising of them–anything about them–I’m going to “CALL” on the Lord. Their initials turned into a subtle reminder for me that their lives (and indeed my own) is covered by the blood of Jesus.
Have they been wounded by their past? Of course, they have…but their healing is not done by me, but by Jesus. He has the power, strength and love to heal them and bring them to Him. Slowly….at God’s pace (which is not my pace–I must remind myself of this)…but I do know that He is working in their lives.
Blessings for the past week:
7. Tulips. I have none (presently), but I have seen many blooming and appreciate their beauty.
8. Brewing thunderstorms.
9. Kids and ducks swimming together in the creek.
10. Healing for my friend’s husband.
11. Sleeping through the night until the alarm went off.
12. Beautiful blue skies after terrible storms.
13. Hooting owls in the early morning.
Remember to be aware of the blessings all around you. I found that when I have a bad day, I can go back and look at the small (and big) things that God has placed around me and feel His peace.
