As I have said before, I have so much outside work to be accomplished…..if only the rains would stop!!
I have checked the weather, and tomorrow is finally supposed to be a nice, sunny day. Perhaps I can do some of the yard work that has been waiting so patiently.
Most of the areas around my home are shady, so I’ve been struggling with what to do where.
At the end of my driveway, there is a pie-shaped area that currently looks like this:
As you can see, it is a mess!
There are still those cinder blocks from the recent construction, weeds, and numerous small cherry trees starting from the droppings of the larger tree above. I was at a loss as to what to even do with this area. I was thinking of just weeding it out and putting stone in……just forgetting this area existed.
Then, I received a flyer from one of those big home improvement places…you know the kind of store I’m talking about, right?
In this flyer, there were numerous ideas about gardening, and I came across this idea for shady areas:
Ah, yes!! The shade spectacular!!
Since tomorrow is supposed to be a beautiful day for a change, I’m stopping by this store on my way home from work–with this ad in hand–
Looks beautiful, shouldn’t be too expensive since most of the plants are of the hosta variety, and tomorrow I’m getting to work….
Now, I’m not fooling myself into thinking that my area will look like their ad immediately. This is going to take some time growing itself into the larger plants. But, anything is better than the mess I have now….
Stay tuned for progress!!
(My son is stopping by tonight…perhaps I can talk him into volunteering to help me…..yes, he will be of a great help!!)
